Adnaan Wasey is an Emmy Award-winning executive producer with a history of championing the work of a diverse group of artists for mainstream and emerging platforms — in fiction, documentary, shorts, and interactive narrative media.
He's worked for some of the world's most admired storytelling brands, including PBS, The New York Times, and Disney, and has created programs for platforms such as Snapchat and Twitch. His work has been honored by the Emmy Awards, Webby Awards, and others. Adnaan is also a former film festival director who has operated and grown successful artists' programs with a focus on diversity and inclusion, including POV Lab, Launchpad, and the Social Impact Writers Lab. He is a sometimes-adjunct professor and a frequent speaker about the future of media creation at venues such as SXSW, The Tribeca Film Festival, IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam), Hot Docs, and The New York Film Festival. He is a former journalist and editor, working in local, national, and international news with organizations such as PBS NewsHour and WNYC (New York Public Radio).
Adnaan recently completed a multi-year fellowship in science communication examining the social science of narrative impact and how fiction television and film can serve underrepresented audiences. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and a winner of The Roddenberry Impact Award.
